Staff LPN must have the physical, emotional, & technical abilities to:

  • Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses
  • Maintain knowledge of each resident from his/her biosketch and family interview
  • Participate in Resident care plan meetings
  • Accept & verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy
  • Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments
  • Administer medications per physician's order
  • Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or his/her designee
  • Insure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, etc.
  • Insure medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over-the-counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician
  • Insure medication room is secured at all times
  • Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications
  • Communicate, as needed, with resident family members and other legal representatives in a courteous, professional manner
  • Supervises and gives direction to aides' 'Work Remotely
